Oman Airports signs contract with CrowdVision® to enhance passenger experience in real time.
Oman Airports (OA) have signed a contract with UK based CrowdVision and local partner, Ingenuity Technologies LLC to deploy a Passenger Flow Management system, to optimise the passenger experience and airport performance across the new Muscat International and Salalah flagship airports, covering all key airport areas.
The CrowdVision deployment is already underway and once live, will measure passenger activity, passenger service delivery and asset utilisation 24/7. This enables complete airport optimisation through better planning,

New partnership with Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Today, we are delighted to announce an exciting and progressive new partnership with Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
On a continuing mission to improve the passenger experience of more than 21 million annual passengers, CrowdVision technology will be used to optimise the full passenger experience beginning with arrivals ‘curbside’ at terminal 4.
Focusing on 3 key areas, CrowdVision will analyse ‘curbside’ actions to manage passenger arrivals and vehicle congestion.
This year at ACI global we’re going to be on Stand 531! Come visit us and meet Colin, Jared and Jamie. It’ll give us a chance to show you what we’re doing here at CrowdVision and how we might just be able to help you optimize your airport, and it’ll give you a chance to put us to the test.
Ask us the questions you really want the answers to.
Business Focus Magazine
Here at CrowdVision we are excited to feature in the Business Focus Magazine. The article discusses the work we have been doing with London Stansted Airport and how the data being extracted from our solution is allowing the airport to minimise wait times, keep passengers moving and manage key assets, to name a few.
CrowdVision offers wait time measurement capability but also so much more. We measure a wider set of metrics to allow improved forecasting,
Stopwatches or Sniffers or Sensors or Cameras?
It’s a weird thing. Airports seem to be going to the market saying, “I want to buy some queue measurement sensors” and sometimes even specifying what type of sensor they’re looking for. The trend for defining sensor types (the how) rather than the outcomes, insights, analytics and data they need (the why and what) drives some of us crazy. But it’s a scene that’s out there so we have to engage with it. Here’s a CrowdVision view.
Coping with Crowding – Creating Capacity
We’re constantly hearing airports say, ‘My terminal was designed for 10 million passengers, now I’m at 15 million, we’re growing 10% each year and we’re struggling to cope!’ The same challenge of operating beyond capacity affects tiny and massive airports alike. There is often a planned grand solution to this challenge, like building a new terminal, but this new capacity is inevitably years away and expensive. So how can airports cope with crowding now?
Wait Time Measurement is NOT Enough!
CrowdVision is deployed in many airports to measure how long passengers are waiting. This is important data … but it is NOT enough. Wherever there is a problem there must also be a solution. Waiting is only the problem. So, what is the solution? Well to answer that we need to understand what is causing the waiting.
There are several different types of waiting in airports, arising for different reasons. Firstly, the imposed waitingcaused because people are entering a mandated processing stage in their journey.
